Rose Romance Vellum Wedding Invitation
The soft colours and intricate edging on this card compliment each other. It is a very straightforward card to make, but gives you an excellent result.

Approximate cost per card : £0.61
(based on making 50 cards)
Materials and Tools
- Rose Romance Foto Finesse Topper
- A6 White Card Blank
- Pink Vellum
- White Card
- Glue Stick or Invisi Dots
We have also used the "Victorian" blade on the Fingerguard Trimmer to create the decorative edge on this card.
Instructions
1. First, we need to make the rose topper for the card. Cut out one of the Rose Romance toppers, trimming off the white border. Cut out a piece of white card which measures 6x8.3cm (slightly bigger than the topper). Stick the rose topper centrally onto the rectangle of white card using the glue stick. Finally, cut out a rectangle of pink vellum measuring 7x9.3cm (slightly bigger than the white card rectangle earlier) and stick the white card centrally onto it. You have now finished your topper.
Tip: It is much easier to get a neat and accurate cut for the toppers if you use a trimmer instead of scissors.
2. We now need to print the "Wedding" onto the blank card. We have used an inkjet printer to do this, but almost any printer should be fine. We recommend you do a test print of your wording on a scrap piece of paper first, so you can work out which way up the card blank needs to go and if you need to make any adjustments before printing onto the card blank. Just use your word processor and choose a suitable script font for your message. We will be trimming away a bit from the edge of your card, so don't forget to take that into account.
Once you have printed onto the card blank, you need to cut the deckle edge on the card. You can use a pair of deckle edge scissors or a trimmer to do this. Cut off about 1cm from the front edge of the card blank.
3. Print off the wording for inside the card, onto an A5 piece of the pink vellum. Once again, I would recommend trying this out on a piece of plain paper until you are happy with the results. Fold the vellum in half and stick it to the inside of the card blank, making sure that you go right to the edges of the card...
Vellum can be tricky to stick down without the glue being visible. We have used one of our glue sticks, which do not leave a lot of excess glue on the card, so you can't see it though the vellum (try to apply an even thin layer for best results). The alternative to a glue stick is to use Invisi Dots, which have been designed specifically for use with vellum, but can be expensive if you have a lot of cards to make.
4. The final step is to position the topper on the front of the card and stick it down with either a glue stick (following the guidelines above) or Invisi dots.
Congratulations! Your invitation is finished!
