Presents Christmas Card

This colourful card is fun to make, for those of you who like colouring in! The colours can be as bright or as subdued as you choose to make them...

Materials and Tools

• Rubber Stamp Package Sextet
• Perfectly Clear Merry Borders and Acrylic Block (Long)
• StazOn Ink Pad (Jet Black)
• Water-based Colouring Pens or Embossing Pens
• Bazzill Basics Card – Jade and Candy Apple
• White Hammer Textured Card
• Glitter Glue, Diamond
• A white card blank
• Glue, Scissors, pencil and ruler

Instructions

1. We first need to stamp our message onto the card blank. Position the 'Merry Christmas' wording onto the acrylic block. You can put lined paper beneath the acrylic block to make sure that you get the lettering straight! Lie your card blank flat on the table, so that it is landscape. Ink up the stamp and stamp 'Merry Christmas' onto the top of the lower half of the card (about 0.5cm from the top of the card). Re-ink the stamp and stamp another 'Merry Christmas' about 1cm from the bottom of the card.
Hint: If you have trouble lining it up, you can draw lines onto the acrylic block with a permanent marker pen, and line these up with the edge of the card to guide you – the StazOn cleaner will remove these afterwards.

2. We now need to add the brightly coloured red and green bands. Cut a strip of the Candy Apple Bazzill, about 6.7cm wide and a strip of the Jade Bazzill about 5.9cm wide (these strips need to be a little wider than the width of the card blank). Stick the green card centrally onto the red card, glue this onto the card blank, centrally positioned between the two 'Merry Christmas' messages and trim the strips on a cutting mat with a craft knife and a steel edged or metal ruler, so that they are the same length as the card blank.

3. We are now ready to make the present topper for the card. Ink up the Present stamp using the black StazOn ink (this ink is waterproof, so the pens and water will not smudge the ink). Stamp the presents onto some white hammer textured card. You now need to colour in the presents. We used embossing pens, which were diluted with a wet paintbrush, but you could use water soluble pens and a wet paintbrush to get the same effect. As a finishing touch, put some diamond glitter glue onto the berries and bows, once the ink is dry and then leave the glitter glue to dry completely.

4. When the glitter glue is dry, cut round the presents with a pair of scissors and stick this centrally onto the Jade card, using mini-mounting pads.
