Be My Valentine Card

This brightly coloured cheerful card makes a great Valentine card, but could very easily be adapted to make an anniversary card.

Materials and Tools

• Chippies – Hearts
• Flower Rubber Stamp
• Bazzill Basics Card – Raven
• Colorbox Queue Fluid Chalk Ink, Rose Petals
• White Card
• Silver Mirri Card
• Double Sided Tape, Mini-Mounting Pads and a Trimmer or Scissors
• White A6 Card Blank

Instructions

1. First, we need to decorate the hearts. Ink up the flower stamp with warm red ink and stamp onto the heart. Repeat this until the heart is covered in flowers. Clean the stamp and stamp on lots of flowers in the dark peony ink. Repeat this on the other heart.

2. We now need to make up the heart topper. Cut out a square of the black card, measuring approximately 5.5x5.5cm. To do this, decide where you are going to stick the hearts and put three mini mounting pads on the back of each one, being careful to put them on a part that will make contact with the black card. Stick down the hearts onto the black card. Cut out a square of the silver mirri card, which is slightly bigger than the black card, about 6x6cm and using double sided tape, stick the black card onto the silver mirri card.

3. The next step is to make the "Be My Valentine" topper. To do this, take a piece of white card and stamp on lots of flowers in the warm red and dark peony, so you get the same effect as on the hearts. Then print your message onto this card using your PC. I only stamped in one corner of the sheet of card and tested out the printing on paper, making sure it was the right size and in the right position before using my stamped card! Cut out the wording and mount on black card, then silver mirri card as before.

4. We now need to give the card blank its colourful border, which we do by stamping flowers all around the edge in the warm red and dark peony. Cut out a rectangle of white card, measuring approximately 9.5x13cm and stick this centrally onto the card blank, so that you have your decorative border around the edge.

5. The final step is to put it all together, by sticking the heart topper in the top right hand corner of the white rectangle of card and the "Be My Valentine" topper in the bottom left hand corner.
