When your trying to make a card for him, it helps to have a great selection of ideas to hand such as the designs included in this set.

To use them, peel them off the backing sheet and arrange them onto an acrylic block. You can then ink and stamp with them (and since they are clear, you can see exactly where you will be stamping). When you are done, simply clean them, peel them off the bock and return them to the backing sheet.
